It is that time of year again, and no we are not talking about Spring, we are talking about the season of planning for the Kamloops Interior Summer School of Music (KISSM). While our registrations roll in, it is our job at the Kamloops Music Collective to plan and prepare for another epic summer music experience for all of those students who have registered. This is a job that we take seriously, and devote countless hours to, but there are some elements of planning and preparation that we cannot do alone, and luckily we don’t have to.
Behind our programs is a sea of community support which proves invaluable every year. From Laughing Stock Theatre Company helping us with sets and props, to Long and McQuade helping us get all of the instruments that we need, to Lee’s Music helping us provide next level course offerings. These examples are just the tip of the iceberg. Every year we also receive donations from local service groups, from local businesses and from generous community members. Even simple likes and shares on social media from all of our loyal families in the community makes a huge difference! We notice every supportive social media post, every kind hearted comment, every child wearing a KISSM T-Shirt around town, every donation (big or small) to help our organization, every amazingly talented musician that work with us, every teacher that collaborates us, and every organization that stands behind us. We see it all, and we want to say THANK YOU!
KISSM is the successful program that it is today because of all of our community support and we think that the community and everyone involved is better off because of it.
