The Kamloops Music Collective (KMC) is putting out a call for young musical theatre students to come together,,, from afar! Theatres around the world are shuttered, but that doesn’t mean that we can't create together. Musical theatre lovers everywhere are invited to take part in our fall classes online! Starting at the end of September we will be gathering kids from around the city, province (or maybe even further) to come together to practice and perform 2 amazing theatrical performances- “The Show Music Go Online!” and “The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley JR.”

The Show Must Go Online

This program is perfect for all young performers (regardless of experience) in grades 3-7. The Show Must Go Online follows the epic tale of a group of students and their teacher who find out that their production of “Brushes…” has just been cancelled. The teacher is frazzled and the kids are disappointed, but they join forces to try and save the drama department!

This unique musical was created as a way for young actors to work together as an ensemble to put on a show – while staying safe in their own homes. Each actor will receive a scene/song to rehearse, video record, and upload. When all the videos are played in order, they tell the hilarious story of a group of passionate students desperate to keep their annual musical alive…online!

This program is perfect for students in grades 3-7 who love musical theatre or who are interested in trying it out!

The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley

Stanley Lambchop is your ordinary, everyday boy until the bulletin board on the wall above his bed comes loose and falls right on top of him. The next morning, Stanley wakes up flat. In a whirlwind musical travelogue, Stanley — the ultimate exchange student — scours the globe for a solution to his unusual problem. He's stamped, posted and cancelled from Hollywood and France to Honolulu and beyond, all in an effort to become a three-dimensional boy once more.Stanley’s journey takes him all across the globe, to many interesting locales, filled with lots of colorful characters, which make for great casting opportunities. Join the cast and join the adventure!

This program is perfect for students in grades 6-12 who have had experience with musical theatre or the stage and are ready to dive deeper into their craft!
