TRU and KISSM: A Collaborative Research Project Launched!

We are pleased to announce Edward R. Howe, PhD will be researching the impact that KISSM has had on our community.  If you have attended KISSM over the past 40 years we ask that you take a few minutes to complete this survey.

Informed Consent:   This research is a collaborative effort between Thompson Rivers University and Kamloops Music Collective, which administers the Kamloops Interior Summer School of Music (KISSM). Our goal is to investigate the benefits of music education for children and youth in order to better position music programming in the community and increase opportunities for music making. Stories and feedback from past KISSM participants are important to help us better understand experiences and bring to light the many joys of music. Identities of survey respondents will be kept strictly confidential. Those completing this survey may withdraw at any time from the study. It is anonymous, confidential and voluntary. It is hoped this research will help promote KISSM and similar projects in the future. If you have any questions about this research, please contact the Principal Researcher at the address below. If you are under 19 years of age, please ensure your parent or guardian consents to your participation. Filling out the survey would imply that such consent has been granted.  The consent form is attached to this email for you to review. Thank you for participation.  Data will be stored on an encrypted HD for 7 years and thendestroyed. The survey should take less than 10 minutes. Any inquiries concerning the procedures of this study may be directed to the principal researcher directly via email or at the number above. Thank you for your contributions to this project.
