Intro to Band Instruments- A Kamloops Interior Summer School of Music Event

We would like to invite Kamloops Interior Summer School of Music (KISSM) students, who signed up for band with little to no prior experience, to join us for a day of exploring concert band instruments! This event is designed for students who are new to band, and are maybe not quite sure what they want to play during KISSM. During this workshop KISSM faculty members will introduce the young musicians to all the band instruments that they can choose from for KISSM. Kids will be given the opportunity to try a variety of instruments and to discuss the character of the instrument and how it fits in an ensemble. This event will allow the participants to rotate through 3 different instrument sessions of their choice in order to gain familiarity with each instrument option. They will choose 3 of the following session options: Flute, Clarinet/Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, and Baritone/Tuba.

The event will be taking place on June 22nd, from 1pm - 3pm, but we ask that students arrive at 12:45 for registration. The registration fee for this event is $15 - everyone who attends and completes the workshop will receive a $10 gift certificate to Long and McQuade to use towards an instrument rental for KISSM.

All registrants must be currently in grade 4 or older, no younger siblings please.
