Set the Stage!
Spring Break Performing Arts Camp
We look forward to seeing you March 15th - 19th, 2021!
Find Your Inner Performer!
Imagine a day filled with musical theatre, set design, instrument exploration, musical games and friends! At Set the Stage! we teach musical theatre fundamentals that help students shine on stage and in all aspects of their lives. This camp is perfect for kids in grades 2-7, beginners are welcome!
This Spring Break, enroll the kids in a Performing Arts Camp that is modeled after our popular summer program, the Kamloops Interior Summer School of Music! Kids who take part will get to explore many aspects of musical theatre and music exploration. We are excited to announce that this year students will have the opportunity to learn and perform the Jr. musical theatre production of Matilda!
Finances should never prevent a child from participating in the arts. As a non-profit organization, the Kamloops Music Collective is committed to making our programming accessible to as many children and youth in our communities as possible. Our bursaries have helped hundreds of children to register in tuition-based programs at a reduced rate. Applications for bursary funding are open to everyone. To view eligibility and submission details, download the application package below. Your privacy matters to us. All applications are held in confidence.
This Spring Break the Kamloops Music Collective is excited to be able to offer 4, $250 bursaries for Set the Stage! If you have any questions, please feel free to email info@KamloopsMusicCollective.ca.
If you would like to pursue further funding, we recommend looking into the Boogie the Bridge Cultural Fund (BBCF). This is a community-based cultural funding program established in 2005 providing grants for children ages 5 to 18 who are in need of financial assistance to have the opportunity to participate in cultural programs in Kamloops. Not only will Set the Stage! give our participants a chance to improve their performance skills, it will also allow them to explore various aspects of theatre and instruments, so that they can find their passion!
Program Terms and Conditions
In order to be able to offer the safest possible program for our participants and their families, the Kamloops Music Collective has adopted a number of Protocols and Procedures for all of our programs. To create a comprehensive list of protocols and procedures to be followed during our Spring Break program, the Kamloops Music Collective has been referencing information from Work Safe BC, BC Centre for Disease Control, The Province of British Columbia COVID-19 Webpage and other industry relevant examples. If new information is released that is relevant to our programs, we will update this document and our website to reflect this.
Please keep in mind that while the protocols and procedures may feel really daunting, it is equally important to us that your kids remain safe and healthy but that they also have a fantastic time and learn through music!
In the unfortunate situation where the program needs to be cancelled on short notice due to health concerns, registrants are entitled to either a full refund (in the event that the program has not commenced) or a prorated amount (if the program is cancelled part way through the week).
In the event that you wish to withdraw your child from a program after you have paid the registration fee, a processing fee of $75 will be deducted from the refunded amount.
Health and Safety
Due to recent concerns regarding COVID19, we require children to be 100% healthy to attend the program. If your child has a fever or signs of a cold or flu, we will ask that they do not attend the program. If a child develops symptoms of an illness during the day that child will be removed from the class and staff will contact parent/guardian to come and pick the child up.
